MicroStation/J
by Bentley Upgrade
|
"MicroStation is now available in specific Engineering configurations." |
|
Fineline is proud to announce our recent upgrade to
MicroStation/J 7.1, Bentleys latest version of its CADD software. We are one
of the first companies in the state of Idaho to receive the upgrade, and were
looking forward to supplying our clients with these improved capabilities.
MicroStation is now available in specific
Engineering configurations. With our clients in mind, we have upgraded our package to the
Geoengineering discipline
even better; weve also had Bentley include two of
their latest geotechnical add-ons. "MicroStation GeoGraphics" and
"GeoXpressions." These two additional configurations now give us the opportunity
to provide GIS Capabilities to our clients.
MicroStation J/GeoGraphics is compatible with all
previous versions of MicroStation, (4.0, 5.0, and SE). Files can easily be transferred to
and from Autocad format, creating even more compatibility with other Engineering
consultants and organizations.

Bentley for MicroStation |
"MicroStation GeoGraphics
is a fully integrated CAD/GIS solution with sophisticated geoengineering
functionality." |
|
MicroStation GeoGraphics 7.1 is a key
engineering product and forms the foundation for discipline-specific applications. By
configuring MicroStation/J for a particular use, it significantly increases user
productivity and offers a more natural and easy-to-use environment for users in
geoengineering than plain MicroStation elements and operations. With this engineering
configuration included with MicroStation/J, independent software developers can take
advantage of high-level functionality to increase application performance and reduce
development time.
Finally, using this engineering
configuration facilitates the migration to component-based modeling. MicroStation
GeoGraphics is a fully integrated CAD/GIS solution with sophisticated geoengineering
functionality. It extends MicroStation's industry-standard data capture and editing tools
with a solid database interface and powerful spatial analysis functionality. MicroStation
GeoGraphics integrates seamlessly with MicroStation providing tools to input, manage,
analyze, and visualize geographical information within MicroStation. Most mapping projects
require some level of customization, which is why MicroStation GeoGraphics has been
designed to be an application development platform, as well as an end-user product. Its
open design provides a wide range of mapping functions that enable users to extend
functionality and create custom applications.

GeoXpressions by Corporate Montage for MicroStation |
"GeoXpressions can create
cartographic maps; contour maps; two-way time maps; well logs; log correlation's
(composite logs); geological cross sections; lithology columns, and use landsat imagery
and seismic sections" |
|
GeoXpressions is the most productive and powerful
presentation tool available for the E & P petroleum exploration industry. Its
strengths are in its geology-specific tools, its WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get)
operation, its connectivity to specialized formats such as CGM Plus, and its robust
plotting. With GeoXpressions you can create cartographic maps; contour maps; two-way time
maps; well logs; log correlations (composite logs); geological cross sections;
lithology columns, and use landsat imagery and seismic sections. Also supported are
graphs, tables, AutoCAD files, photographs and blocks of text. Based on the powerful
MicroStation/J CAD system, GeoXpressions offers fast, responsive graphics and a huge range
of drawing tools. Specific features have been added to MicroStation for this application,
such as transparency and display-list ordering, and links to specific data formats such as
LAS (well log data). A plot server is included - this moves the plotting function off the
users computer and onto the server. And the output is WYSIWYG, you see on the screen
exactly what will come out on the plotter. The entire image is available on the PC
therefore output may also be directed to other destinations such as Laser Printers, MS
Word, MS Power Point, and Web Pages.
